Takemichi at Mitsuya's funeral
After seeing Mitsuya's body, Takemichi frantically runs, shocked by the turn of events. As he checks his phone, he finds that Mitsuya's death is suspected to be a murder; additionally, Hina was killed, dying in the same way as before.[2] Takemichi trips, and despairs as he kneels on the ground; just as he screams out for Chifuyu and Naoto, he notices a key has fallen out of his pocket, the key to his apartment he lived in before his time leaps.[3]

Takemichi finds the photo
Entering his apartment, he finds it as familiar as ever. As he wonders how the events transpired, Takemichi notices the final photo he took with Mikey and the others.[4] Just then, Naoto enters the apartment, telling Takemichi that he has been looking for him, as his memory was overwritten, meaning that Takemichi came back to the future. Naoto says this is the worst future that has occurred thus far, as Hina was not saved.

Mikey is revealed to be the murderer
Additionally, almost everyone in the photo has been killed: Chifuyu was shot to death, Hakkai was burned to death, Mitsuya was strangled to death, Draken was stabbed to death. Additionally, other chief members of Toman were murdered as well, including Kazutora, Pah-chin, and even Kisaki. Naoto says the suspect of these murders is still at large; when Takemichi asks if Mikey is still alive, Naoto reveals that Mikey is the one who perpetrated all the murders. A shocked Takemichi insists that Mikey would never kill everyone; Naoto says he wants to know the truth as well, through speaking to Mikey. He tells Takemichi, the only surviving former Toman admin, that he is the only one who can make this happen.
