"Rebel" is the second chapter of the second volume and the 12th chapter overall of the Todai Revengers parody, written and illustrated by Shinpei Funatsu.

Summary

Now back in the present, Michitake plans to stop Ueda from marrying Hayase, singling him out as the bad guy, which confuses Yariel. He begins by gathering information on him and learns that Ueda is a successful businessman working at Yubishi Trading with an annual salary of nine million yen. In addition, Makkun works for the same company. Michitake speaks with Makkun through text, and he invites him to a private meeting at a club.

Michitake arrives at the rooftop, intimidated by the fact that he and Makkun have become worlds apart over the course of several years. Michitake compliments his luxurious life as expected from a Todai University graduate, but Makkun confesses that the university no longer means anything to him. After getting fired by his employers for always talking about Todai, Makkun decided to detach himself from the university. Michitake wonders why, remembering his promise about always bearing the title of a graduate even after graduation, and Makkun tells him that it was out of fright for the Mita Group, an alumni association hosted by Keio University. Makkun compares the Keio graduates' more successful lives than the Todai graduates' and announces that he will enter medical school at another university.

Michitake falls to his knees, while Makkun leaves. Afterward, he tells Yariel that he must rescue both Makkun and Hayase.
