Takemichi designates Izana as an enemy

Takemichi designates Izana as an enemy

After she and Takemichi sit on the slide for a while, Hina announces that it is morning now, and she has to go back home before her parents wake up. When Takemichi brings up what he accidentally revealed about time-leaping and the future,[2] Hina says she did not hear a thing, implicitly promising to protect Takemichi's secret. With his motivation renewed, Takemichi deduces that his enemy is Izana Kurokawa, whose presence accelerated Mikey's fall into darkness; this is all contrived by Kisaki. Takemichi vows to destroy both of them, with his new target being Izana. He believes he can ignore the Tenjiku conflict for now; thinking back to his meeting with Taiju,[3] where it was revealed that Mikey held immense trust in Izana. Takemichi decides his present goal is to find out why Mikey would trust Izana.

Draken announces his arrival at the Sano household

Meanwhile, at the Sano household, Emma, cooking eggs, asks her grandfather to wake Mikey. A sluggish Mikey eventually arrives in the kitchen; he and Emma engage in typical sibling banter, with Mikey complaining about the way Emma cooked the eggs, to which she responds by telling him to cook his own eggs. She tells Mikey to throw away an old childhood towel, to which he refuses, saying that the towel is his life. Just then, the doorbell rings, signaling Draken's arrival, much to the excitement of Emma. Mikey tells him to wait in his room, and Draken tells him that he is with Takemichi. The two of them go to Mikey's room, which is separated from the house; Draken explains that it used to be a storehouse where Shinichiro would fix bikes. In their childhood, he and Mikey would always endlessly watch him fix bikes. Takemichi is impressed with Mikey's room, remarking that everything seems grown-up; this is because most of it was passed down from Shinichiro.

After Mikey arrives and Takemichi explains that the leader of Tenjiku is a person named Izana Kurokawa, Mikey reveals that he has met Izana before.[4] Draken speculates that Izana may be connected to Shinichiro, as he was a former Black Dragons leader, revealing to Takemichi that Shinichiro founded the Black Dragons, but tells Takemichi to keep this fact a secret. Because Takemichi had already learned this from Taiju in the future;[5] Draken is surprised by his understated reaction, which temporarily panics Takemichi, but Draken quickly brushes it off. He tells Takemichi that only he, Mikey, and Baji knew of this fact, as revealing this would complicate things, since Toman was formed to help Kazutora fight the Black Dragons.[6]

Emma reveals Izana is her brother

Mikey relays a flashback, in which he tells his brother of his intention to fight the Black Dragons. He tells Shinichiro that the Black Dragons are not as cool as they used to be, to which Shinichiro agrees, saying that the Eighth Generation changed its course. Although the Black Dragons are dear to him, Shinichiro tells Mikey to do what he wants, as he left the Black Dragons behind for him to lead. From this, Draken concludes that Izana, the Eighth Generation leader, was the cause of the Black Dragons' degradation. As Takemichi pieces the new information together, Emma enters, bringing tea. When Takemichi wonders about Izana's identity aloud, Emma reveals that he is her older brother, much to the shock of everybody else.
