Inupi remembers Shinichiro's words

Takemichi stands against Mucho, telling him that he will never give up Kokonoi over to Tenjiku. When Mucho remarks that Takemichi has no chance of winning a fight against him, Takemichi replies that it is not about whether he can win or not, which prompts Inupi to remember something Shinichiro said to him, when he asked if winning was truly important. Although he is still restrained, Takemichi charges at Mucho.

After being unconscious for a while, Takemichi finds himself atop a pile of garbage, along with Inupi, remembering what transpired in their fight against Mucho. After hearing Takemichi's words, Inupi tells him that he will help Takemichi fight Mucho. As they rush at Mucho, Mucho remarks to Kokonoi that they will die unless Kokonoi chooses to join Tenjiku; just as Mucho prepares to punch Inupi, Kokonoi begs him to stop, promising to do whatever is required of him.

Released, Takemichi is carrying Inupi to the hospital. Inupi apologizes for being unable to protect Kokonoi, but Takemichi tells him not to worry, as Kokonoi will not be killed, since he is a valuable asset for Tenjiku. He confesses that though he initially thought Inupi and Kokonoi were irredeemable individuals, he now realizes they are good people, as Inupi helped him fight, and Kokonoi sacrificed himself to save them. He says they are his friends, and swears to save Kokonoi, reassuring Inupi. When Takemichi admits he does not have a plan yet, Inupi gets off his back and leads him to an abandoned building that served as his and Kokonoi's hideout.

There, they attend to their injuries. Inupi explains that he wanted to revive the Black Dragons with a specific goal in mind, which is why Kokonoi stayed devoted to him. Because of this, Inupi says that he would die for Kokonoi; suddenly, he bows, telling Takemichi that he is entrusting his life to him. Crying, Inupi begs Takemichi to become the eleventh leader of the Black Dragons and save Kokonoi.
