"Be in the van" is the second chapter of the 18th volume and the 154th chapter overall of the Tokyo卍Revengers manga series, written and illustrated by Ken Wakui.

Summary[]

From a distance, Kisaki overlooks the impending fight; Chifuyu points out they have to thoroughly defeat Tenjiku before they defeat Kisaki, but Takemichi vows to bring Kisaki down. Izana points out Toman's disadvantage in the battle, as Tenjiku outnumbers Toman, 400 to 50. He calls up Shion as their "forerunner"; Yamagishi explains that this is part of the S-62 Generation's ritual, in which they begin battles with a one-on-one fight.

Shion as the forerunner

Because he decided to continue with the battle, Takemichi volunteers as Shion's opponent, amusing Shion, who remarks that none of their strongest fighters are present; in addition, they cannot find a strong forerunner. Peh-yan steps up, telling Shion to face him; he reminds Takemichi that he is acting as President. As he introduces himself as the acting Third Division Captain, Shion interrupts Peh-yan, saying that he can defeat all of Toman alone. Chifuyu notes that the first fight is important, as it gives the winning side a morale boost. Unexpectedly, Peh-yan knocks out Shion with a single punch; Hakkai remembers something Mitsuya said about Peh-yan: though he is unintelligent, he is stronger than him.

After this, with Takemichi acting as their leader, Toman charges at Tenjiku to begin their fight. Takemichi shouts to Kisaki, and they both agree to settle their battle tonight.
