Kokonoi coldly responds that Toman will not make money and offers Inupi a position in Tenjiku. He tells Inupi that Toman will lose the battle and asks him to trust him not to do anything bad. When Kokonoi implores Inupi to think about his decisions, Inupi tells him to do so as well, as Kokonoi no longer needs money; Inupi asks him when he became obsessed with "Akane", which enrages Kokonoi, who strangles him. Kokonoi tells him that he is the obsessive one, with his fixation on reviving the Black Dragons. Pushing Kokonoi's hands away, Inupi says that he has accepted that he ruined the Black Dragons, but Kokonoi has yet to see him as "Seishu", not "Akane". As he knees Inupi, Kokonoi realizes that he lived for money.

In a flashback, Inupi asks Kokonoi what he is reading in a library. Kokonoi replies that it is about earning money; Inupi remarks that he should go home once in a while, as they are different. Later, as Kokonoi walks through the library, he finds Inupi sleeping by a window. Tearfully kissing his face, Kokonoi is reminded of Akane and breaks down.
