Summary[]
Kokonoi informed of Akane's death
Determined to get the money for Akane's treatment, Kokonoi researches various methods to earn money: he concludes that as a child, the only way to acquire such a large sum of money is through illegal means. He starts by recruiting delinquents to steal and blackmail; as their work grew in infamy, they received more jobs. After a month, they earned ¥100,000, an infinitesimal amount when compared to Kokonoi's goal. Instead, this money was reinvested into the delinquents; they begin to steal credit cards, while Kokonoi builds connections with wealthy individuals, getting jobs to cover up crimes. Money acquisition begins to consume his life. One day, as he is relaying a job to his delinquents, Kokonoi gets a call from a tearful Inupi, learning that Akane has died.
Kokonoi asks if Inupi used him
Kokonoi touches Inupi's face
Back at the battle between Toman and Tenjiku, Inupi punches Kokonoi, imploring him to accept and move past Akane's death. Kokonoi lashes out, kicking Inupi; he tells Inupi to shut up and not look at him with Akane's face. The people who use him for money, such as Izana Kurokawa and Taiju Shiba, are simple. Kokonoi asks if Inupi is the same, only using him to financially rebuild the Black Dragons; in response, Inupi simply only says that Akane is already dead, implying that there is no use for money. Telling Inupi to shut up, Kokonoi says he does not want to get emotional, repeating that everyone who approached him only wanted his money; Inupi tries to repeat that Akane is dead. Before Inupi can finish, Kokonoi caresses his face, asking if Akane would have looked at him with such an angry face.
Mucho prepares to face Inupi
Kokonoi recalls visiting Akane's body, asking her if death was painful. He tells her she can finally rest; tearfully apologizing, with his mind consumed by money, he regrets that he did not have enough money to save her. He tells Inupi that he knows that Akane is dead, but he cannot return to Toman, as he has entrusted his life to Tenjiku; he and Inupi are enemies. Mucho steps between them, telling Inupi that he is now his opponent.
