"The worst is come" is the second chapter of the 29th volume and the 253rd chapter overall of the Tokyo卍Revengers manga series, written and illustrated by Ken Wakui.

Summary

Peh-yan and the Kawata Twins confront Mikey

Chifuyu punches Hanma but he is knocked out like the rest; Mitsuya, Hakkai, and Akkun lie in defeat. Takemichi sees this and worries about his friends, but Kakucho comes in and punches him.

Peh-yan calls out to Mikey from below the freight container. Smiley and Angry stand beside him. Peh-yan orders Mikey to come down while Smiley challenges him.

Meanwhile, Benkei punches Inupi hard enough to make him fall on his knees. Wakasa applauds Inupi and Koko's performance before Koko falls to the ground beside Inupi.

With the Living Legends' victory, Kanto Manji Gang cheers. Takemichi continues to worry. Smiley and Peh-yan lose to Mikey, and Angry cries. Takemichi, who is distracted by their battle, is punched again by Kakucho and he falls.

Takemichi thinking he's responsible for the losses

While on the ground, Takemichi rethinks if whether or not his decision to go forth with the battle was reckless. He also blames himself for Toman's loss in the fight. As he weakly brings himself back up, he grips the railroad track and unintentionally triggers a vision where Toman members are ran over by an oncoming train. He also envisions Haruchiyo's confession of being the perpetrator of the incident. Now back up on his feet, Takemichi anxiously concludes that Haruchiyo plans to kill everyone.
