Takemichi desperately asks Kakucho for help
Kakucho warns Takemichi that the train will derail at an intersection if they ever fail to make it stop. Takemichi panics as he struggles to find the brakes and asks Kakucho for help. However, Kakucho is severely wounded from Haruchiyo's attack which prompts Takemichi to order everyone in the yard to move away. Kakucho tells him to get off the train else he dies with him, but Takemichi finds the brakes in time.

Kakucho throws Takemichi
Toman and Kanto Manji Gang members look on at the incoming train. Takemichi assures that he will stop the train at all costs, but Kakucho throws him out and insists that he will do it alone. The brakes do not work. The train continues to advance forward, but an apparition of Izana Kurokawa appears. He remarks Kakucho's reckless behavior and helps him turn the lever.

Takemichi is relieved about the train
The train stops. Haruchiyo is appalled. Takemichi runs to meet Kakucho, but he finds him wounded and unconscious.
