Mikey and his friends establish Toman
In the summer of sixth grade, Draken met Emma for the first time at the Sano family's home. He later invited Mikey to meet Takashi Mitsuya at the temple after he emerged from the shower. They invited Keisuke Baji to join them.
Mikey briefly recounts meeting each of the six founding members of the Tokyo Manji Gang. He states that he has always liked strong people and wished for their lives to remain as happy as they once were, but that changed on the day of Shinichiro's death.

Mikey resists his tears
Mikey was revealed to be walking to the bike shop until he stumbled upon the commotion outside S.S MOTOR. As he pushed himself through the crowd, he came face-to-face with a crying Baji, who apologized wearily.
Later, Mikey stood before Shinichiro's body with Emma and his grandfather at a hospital. In the men's restroom, Mikey begged his tears to stop spilling and willed them away by washing his face.

Draken agrees with Mikey
At a gang meeting, Pah-chin and Mitsuya assured Mikey that Toman was good on its own as a small gang, but Draken sided with Mikey and his ultimate wish of turning Toman into Japan's top syndicate. Toman gradually widened their influence and recruited members one by one.
At a pier, Mikey stretched his hand toward the sea and told Draken that they must conquer the world in the same year. However, he eventually met Takemichi Hanagaki and Tetta Kisaki, who both played a role in twisting his fate.
