Mikey asks Takemichi why he stood up
A montage of past events is shown: a flashback of Mikey and Draken saving Takemichi from his duel with Kiyomasa, Takemichi stopping Mikey from killing Kazutora, and Takemichi during the Kanto Incident, standing proudly during Mikey's arrival.
At present, a beaten Takemichi is desperately trying to hold his own against Mikey, who insults Takemichi and questions his ability to fight. Takemichi then tells Mikey that he made a promise to Baji and Draken to take care of Toman and Mikey, respectively.

Takemichi throws away his fear
Takemichi then charges at Mikey, and is immediately knocked to the floor by one of his kicks. As Takemichi thinks back to his last interaction with Hina, when he confessed his fear of confronting Mikey, he thinks to himself and decides to look past his fear for the sake of his friends and the future he is trying to create. Charging at Mikey once again, Takemichi recalls all the events that led up to this moment, telling Mikey that he is the only one that can save him.

Takemichi says he will not give up
This back-and-forth exchange continues until Takemichi starts to go deaf and blind from all the head trauma caused to him by Mikey. Takemichi then sees a vision of the near future where Mikey kicks him once again, but is too slow to react, which lets Mikey get another kick on him.
