Summary[]
Shinichiro and Baji pick up Haruchiyo
Shinichiro went with Baji to pick up Haruchiyo from detention, having spent a year after injuring his friends with a katana. Shinichiro asked about Baji's school life, to which Baji replied that middle school was not interesting.
Haruchiyo was surprised to see them. Shinichiro explained that Takeomi refused to speak to him, so he came for him instead. Haruchiyo wondered about Mikey's state, so Shinichiro drove everyone to see him.
Reaching the clinic, Haruchiyo was surprised to find an emaciated Mikey. As he tried to ask Mikey if he still remembered him, he reacted with horror at his condition after touching his hand, claiming that he was not Mikey anymore. Later on, Baji revealed his worries about Shinichiro; his grandfather had died, Emma ran away from home, and he had to both work and study at the same time to be certified as a caregiver. Baji also speculated that Mikey did not have much time left to live.
Baji thinks Mikey has little time left to live
One month later, on July 20th, Mikey passed away, leaving Shinichiro in shambles. He later spoke with Wakasa on how he got involved in shady businesses to support Mikey in the last four years, even resorting to follow unproven methods and religious cults that promised false cures. Out of annoyance, Shinichiro suggested to kill them as payback for their deception. Wakasa was relieved that Mikey passed away, thinking that Shinichiro would had collapsed first. He proposed Shinichiro to join his gang so they could reign supreme. Without a response from Shinichiro, they settled for drinks in honor of Mikey.
Shinichiro overhears another table
At the bar, Shinichiro overheard a conversation about an old homeless man, who preached about being able to time-leap. He was beaten and called a liar after being unable to demonstrate his ability since he claimed it required a "trigger". Interested, Shinichiro approached the guests whom he overheard the story from, and demanded where the man was. He ended up beating all of them on his own as he ordered to know the man's location.
