The homeless man explains how he got his powers
Along with Wakasa, Shinichiro found the homeless man in a tunnel located under a bridge. He demanded to learn how to travel back in time, but the man ridiculed him with laughter. Wakasa tried to talk Shinichiro out of it, mentioning that he should not trust the drunken crowd from the bar earlier, but headed home when Shinichiro ordered him to shut up.
As the man stowed away his valuables, Shinichiro insisted to know about his time-leaping ability. The man claimed that he could not lend his power because it was difficult to obtain in the first place. Before strolling away, he told Shinichiro that he could give him the ability if only he was willing to kill him, the same course of action the old man once did to obtain it. Gripping a PVC pipe, Shinichiro charged at the man and swung the pipe at his head, killing him effectively. To Shinichiro's dismay, the time-leap did not occur.

Haruchiyo sees Shinichiro
The next day, Haruchiyo bid Baji that he was going to swing by Shinichiro's place out of instinct. While walking by the river, Haruchiyo found Shinichiro standing on top of a bridge and threatening to jump. He tried to console him, but he mentioned that today, July 30th, was the date of Mikey's accident and that he wanted to go back in time to change the past. As he leaped off the bridge, Shinichiro came in contact with the water before unexpectedly waking up to the sight of a young Mikey running toward him with his Concorde model.
