Summary[]
Shinichiro was taken aback to see Mikey racing toward him, clutching his Concorde toy. Mikey jumped over the couch and accidentally kicked Shinichiro in the face, but he did not mind it as he confusedly wondered if he was dreaming. He thought that he was supposed to be already dead after jumping off the bridge and into the river moments before, but a calendar behind Takeomi, who sat across him on the couch, caught his attention as it blared the current date: July 30, 1999.
Shinichiro concluded that he was back on the same day as it was moments ago, but four years earlier. As this realization sank in, a pouting Mikey appeared to apologize for kicking him. Shinichiro began to cry, and he encircled Mikey in a hug. While Mikey found his actions strange, Shinichiro asked if he wanted to learn how to ride a bike.
On the highway, Shinichiro taught Mikey how to drive, as Takeomi and Baji followed behind them. Shinichiro celebrated his successful time-leap and promised that he would fix this life and protect Mikey. At 3:30 in the afternoon, Shinichiro recalled how he had received the news from his grandfather about Mikey's accident around the same time. When no call came, he was relieved that Mikey was in good condition, making him hopeful that their fates had changed.
When they arrived home, Shinichiro greeted his grandfather and Emma, who were both doing fine as they did the dishes. Nearly moved to tears, Shinichiro offered to help them cook, but ended up cleaning the floors instead. While cleaning, he heard someone call Mikey's name outside, and he rushed to check. Arriving at the scene, he witnessed Mikey scarring Haruchiyo's mouth with Baji and Senju watching.
In the evening, Shinichiro confronted Mikey about his actions. Mikey claimed that he did not know what was wrong with him and why he injured Haruchiyo so badly. He apologized to Shinichiro and later to Haruchiyo at the hospital. As Mikey excused himself, Shinichiro reminded Haruchiyo that he did not have to immediately forgive Mikey, but instead had the choice to continue being his friend. As he called Mikey his best friend, Haruchiyo shook Shinichiro's outstretched hand and effectively transported Shinichiro back to the present.
Finding himself in his bike shop, Shinichiro was surprised to learn that he had travelled back to 2003, the present. He suddenly ran into an aged Mikey, who asked him for help after breaking his motorcycle.
