"Carry on" is the fourth chapter of the 31st volume and the 273rd chapter overall of the Tokyo卍Revengers manga series, written and illustrated by Ken Wakui.
Summary[]
Shinichiro fell to his knees as he was greeted by an older version of Mikey. As he cried, he rejoiced over successfully changing Mikey's fate by going back in time.
After fixing Mikey's broken motorbike, a worried Haruchiyo appeared. He confronted Shinichiro about remembering two distinct memories: the first from Shinichiro's funeral a few days ago, after he committed suicide due to Mikey's passing, and the second from the present time. Haruchiyo explained that Shinichiro was supposedly a nurse until a newer memory emerged from his mind, wherein Shinichiro was a bike mechanic. He also mentioned Mikey's formation of the Tokyo Manji Gang, despite vaguely remembering that he had once died and triggered Shinichiro's suicide. Shinichiro confessed that he leaped in time to rescue Mikey and divulged the details of his time-leaping ability.
Haruchiyo later promised him that he would not tell anyone about their strange powers. As Shinichiro walked away, he decided that he no longer needed his ability since he had already rescued Mikey. Suddenly, he witnessed a confrontation between a young boy and a group of middle school children, who had been threatening a girl. The young boy was revealed to be Takemichi, who defended Hina from middle schoolers, with Tetta Kisaki watching from a distance.
Takemichi was beaten up by the middle schoolers until Shinichiro interjected and scared them away. With this, Takemichi found interest in Shinichiro and asked how he could become strong and a hero like him. Shinichiro looked at his palm and remembered the man from whom he got his time-leaping ability. Shinichiro then shook hands with Takemichi and assured him that he would become strong one day. Although indirectly, he also added that he could use the power that he had given him if he ever had someone to save. Before walking away, Shinichiro briefly stated that he should have just asked the old man to give him the power, leaving Takemichi confused.
At present, Wakasa says that Shinichiro's fateful meeting with young Takemichi was all that he had told him. After learning the truth, Takemichi concludes that he, Hina, Kisaki, and Shinichiro are connected to each other, and that the day he met Shinichiro was the beginning of his story.
