"My buddy" is the sixth chapter of the fifth volume and the 39th chapter overall of the Tokyo卍Revengers manga series, written and illustrated by Ken Wakui.

Summary

Mikey prepares to tell Takemichi about something important to him: a childhood friend that lived in his neighborhood, who would always pick fights with him, even if Mikey won every time. Mikey reveals that this friend is the First Division Captain, who punched Takemichi earlier, Baji. He laughs and tells Takemichi about Baji's confusing and unpredictable behavior, in particular, his tendency for violence, such as punching people because he is tired, or committing arson because he is hungry. Mikey explains that Baji was one of the founding members of Toman, during his first year of middle school, along with Draken, Mitsuya, and Pah-chin.

Takemichi begs Mikey to kick out Kisaki

Mikey threatens Takemichi's life

Mikey orders Takemichi to bring Baji back from Valhalla, as he loves him. Takemichi promises to do this, but requests that Kisaki leaves Toman, passionately telling Mikey that Kisaki will ruin Toman. Mikey agrees, telling Takemichi to prove his usefulness by retrieving Baji. He recognizes that Kisaki is potentially dangerous, but also recognizes his potential strength against Valhalla. Should Takemichi fail in his task, Mikey swears to kill him.

Baji meets up with Kazutora

Suddenly, Mikey calls out to Mitsuya, who has been hiding behind a tree after looking for a restroom, listening to the conversation. Mikey tells Mitsuya he is placing Takemichi in his division, and that Takemichi is now an official member of Toman. Takemichi remembers his promise to Naoto to become the leader of Toman, embarrassed of his past insensible plans. However, he is determined to reach his new goal: bring Baji back to Toman in order to get rid of Kisaki. As Takemichi wonders why Baji left Toman in the first place, he spots an omamori, along with a photo of the founding members of Toman. He notices that there are not five, but six members in the picture. The unknown member has a mole under his eye, along with a lion tattoo. Meanwhile, Baji meets up with this member, whose name is revealed to be Kazutora.
