Kazutora breaks down and swears to kill Mikey

After it is revealed that Shinichiro is Mikey's brother, Baji and Kazutora panic, as Shinichiro is not breathing. Shocked by his own actions, Kazutora has a mental breakdown, muttering frantically and incoherently. Baji plans to call an ambulance for Shinichiro, then leave the shop, but the police have already arrived on the scene. As a result of his breakdown, Kazutora begins to blame Mikey, and convinces himself that he has to kill him. Baji and Kazutora are arrested, and Shinichiro dies at the scene. As he is getting led out by the police, Mikey sees Baji and asks what happened. Baji begins to cry, and apologizes to Mikey.

Hanma announces Toman and Valhalla's conflict (manga)

The conflict date is set

In the present, Baji says he considers this event the reason that separated Mikey, Kazutora, and him. Since Kazutora took full responsibility, Baji did not end up in reform school. After learning this, Takemichi believes that he will be unable to bring Baji back from Valhalla. Impressed by Baji's story, Hanma gives the Valhalla uniform to him, and tells Takemichi to relay a message to Mikey: a week from now, on October 31st, Valhalla and Toman will fight in the abandoned car lot.

Chifuyu speculates Baji is targeting Kisaki (manga)

Chifuyu speculates Baji is targeting Kisaki

Lying awake at night, Takemichi processes the information he has learned, concluding that he only has a week to bring Baji back, an impossible feat; this would also make his goal of finding a better future impossible. The next day, as he is walking to school, Takemichi encounters a beat up boy, who invites him to sit on the swing next to him. Scared by his appearance, Takemichi ignores him, until the boy mentions that the previous day was a disaster, but mentions how he admires Baji. Confused, Takemichi asks if the boy was Baji's friend, who responds by introducing himself as the First Division Vice-Captain, Chifuyu Matsuno, who Baji beat up in a test of faith.[2] Chifuyu tells Takemichi that he should be thankful to Baji, as he helped misdirect attention from Takemichi ruining the nomination ceremony.[3] Additionally, Chifuyu suspects that Baji has ulterior goals in joining Valhalla, and does not want to destroy Toman; instead, Baji wants to target Kisaki.
