Takemichi stands between Mikey and Kazutora (manga)

Takemichi stands between Mikey and Kazutora

Angered by Baji's death, Mikey begins repeatedly punching Kazutora, to the extent of knocking him unconscious. As he holds Baji in his arms, Chifuyu tearfully tells Takemichi his frustration in being unable to help or save Baji. Takemichi also shares these feelings, reflecting upon his failed mission. Suddenly, he remembers Baji's dying words to him,[2] in which he entrusted the fate of Toman to Takemichi. Screaming, Takemichi throws himself between Mikey and Kazutora, in an attempt to stop Mikey, who threatens to kill Takemichi as well if he continues to interfere. Even after getting punched by Mikey, Takemichi desperately implores him to stop, saying that Baji would not have wanted this to happen. Mikey angrily tells Takemichi not to talk about Baji, which causes Takemichi to cry out in frustration.

Mikey sees the charm (manga)

Mikey sees the charm

Taking off his jacket, Takemichi explains that Baji died for Toman, killing himself so that Kazutora would not be responsible for his death, and Mikey could forgive him. As his jacket falls, Baji's omamori charm falls out, and Mikey asks Takemichi where he got the charm. Takemichi explains that he found it after the Third Division Captain nomination.[3] The other founding members, including Draken and Mitsuya, recognize the charm and are surprised. Mikey realizes that Baji had held on to the charm since Toman's founding, recalling their goal of a new age for delinquents. As he is shocked, a glimmer of light enters Mikey's dark eyes.
