As he watches Hanma and Chifuyu in confusion, Takemichi wonders what is going on. Recapitulating the events of Bloody Halloween, Mikey announces that Hanma, the vice-leader of Valhalla, has a message for Toman. Hanma reveals that Valhalla never had an official leader; because of this, they will now join under Toman. Hearing this announcement, Toman rejoices over its growth, chanting in celebration. Watching the events unfold, Takemichi realizes that nothing has changed much, as Valhalla's affiliation with Toman is essentially the same as the gangs combining.[2]

Remembering Baji's words about Kisaki being the enemy, Takemichi shudders in terror at the idea of Kisaki taking over Toman. Realizing the events, from Baji's death and Kazutora's survival have been for naught, Takemichi concludes that he has failed once again. Mikey somberly reflects on Baji's death;[3] he turns to Chifuyu, telling him to continue. Stepping forward as the First Division's vice-captain, Chifuyu reveals that although he considered leaving Toman after Baji's death, Mikey stopped him, asking him if he wanted to thoroughly snuff out the First Division. To Chifuyu, leading the First Division is a great responsibility; after consulting with Mikey, he has decided to name a new First Division leader. Shouting from above, Chifuyu nominates Takemichi as the First Division leader. He explains that this is what Baji would have wanted, and Mikey agrees.

Asking for a response, Mikey tells Takemichi to raise his head. Thinking of the futures that rely on him, Takemichi realizes he can still enact change within Toman. Amid his tears, he raises his head high, loudly exclaiming that he will do this best. Draken asks what he is crying about, noting Takemichi's lack of discipline. Chuckling, Mitsuya remarks that he has to redo the embroidery on Takemichi's uniform, and Mikey says Takemichi raised his head too high.
