Summary[]
On Christmas Day, Hakkai puts on his Black Dragons uniform and promises to settle everything. Meanwhile, Taiju leaves the Black Dragons in the temporary command of Kokonoi and Inupi, as he prepares to observe his annual Christmas ritual of going to church alone[2]. At home, Yuzuha says that she wishes her difficult home life would disappear. While she is watching television, her phone suddenly vibrates.
Outside, Kokonoi remarks to Inupi that it seems as if they will be busy today. Inupi then asks him what he wants to do, to which Kokonoi replies that he is staying with Inupi, prompting Inupi to ask if Kokonoi is keeping his promise. Kokonoi playfully says he forgot about that.
As Takemichi walks to meet Kisaki, Hanma, and Chifuyu to enact their plan, he reminds himself of tonight's goals: they will stop Hakkai from killing Taiju and defeat the Black Dragons. Takemichi is certain that this change will improve the future. Chifuyu approaches Takemichi and bows, telling Takemichi how Baji impacted his life; he then presents Baji's ceremonial sash to Takemichi, who promises to honor Baji's legacy by facing obstacles head-on, just like how Baji did. With all four of them wearing their uniforms complete with their sashes, they approach the church. Takemichi reminds himself that they have to fight this battle alone, without depending on Toman.
They prepare to enact the plan, with Takemichi entering the church and reasoning with Hakkai, while Kisaki, Hanma, and Chifuyu fight Taiju. Right before he enters the church, Chifuyu reassures Takemichi, telling him that persuading Hakkai is the most important aspect of the plan. Entering the church, Takemichi finds Hakkai standing in front of the alter. He calls out to him, and Hakkai turns around, asking Takemichi why he is there.
