Keisuke telling Chifuyu to only follow him (anime)

Keisuke telling Chifuyu to only follow him

Chifuyu recalls the time soon after he joined Toman, under Keisuke Baji's division. Some of the members were annoyed at him and called him ass-kisser and that he is acting like being higher rank than them even though he is younger. Chifuyu then beats up the three guys, proving that he is better than them. Keisuke then arrives and seeing what happened, he beats up Chifuyu. Later, Keisuke tells Chifuyu to not cause trouble in the division as he is no longer on his own. Chifuyu explains he joined Toman because he is admiring Keisuke and doesn't respect the rest. Keisuke then tells him to follow only him and stick to him.

Chifuyu meets with Takemichi and explains that he lived a life of hating and hurting others, but Keisuke changed his life. He explains that Keisuke was a great man who stuck to his ideals and gives Takemichi Keisuke's sash, entrusting it to him. Takemichi accepts it and Chifuyu helps him tie it up. Takemichi swears that he will live true to his ideals. The two then meet up with Tetta and Shuji and head towards the church.

Reaching the church, Takemichi heads inside to stop Hakkai, while leaving the other three outside to stop Taiju when he shows up. Inside, Takemichi sees Hakkai, which surprises him and makes him wonder why Takemichi is there. Takemichi realizes that Tetta's predition is correct and he indeed needs to change Hakkai's mind. Takemichi explains he is there to stop him, but Hakkai tells him that he didn't speak with him earlier because he wants Takemichi to stop him. He spoke with him to stiffen his resolve and do it. Takemichi doesn't believe it, stating that he shares his troubles only when he can't make his mind and if Hakkai kills Taiju, it won't protect anyone, and it won't protect Yuzuha. Hakkai states that Takemichi doesn't understand and explains how badly Taiju threats him for just looking at him wrong, being in a bad mood or just forgetting to greet him. He tells Takemichi to leave as he won't change his mind. Takemichi reveals that he broke up with Hinata yesterday, to protect her. He is weak, but will do anything to protect her, except killing someone. No matter the situation or the alternatives, he won't do anything that will make Hinata grieve. Takemichi asks him if Yuzuha would grieve if he committed murder.

In that moment, Taiju enters the church. Takemichi wonders what happened with Tetta and the others. At the same time, Taiju wonders why are they here. In that moment, Hakkai pulls out a knife and runs towards Taiju. Meanwhile, Shuji had some trouble, but he finally is able to restrain Chifuyu, stating that they should stay out of the fight between brothers. As Shuji and Tetta leave, Shuji guesses that their partnership with Takemichi is over and guesses that Tetta planned on backstabbing them from the beginning. And if that's the case, why he worked with them. Tetta states it was fun as they couldn't do anything. Shuji laughs, stating that Tetta is the best and the only guy who knows how to entertain him.

Yuzuha stabs Taiju (anime)

Yuzuha stabs Taiju

Taiju grabs Hakkai, making him drop the knife. Taiju states that he really hopped that Hakkai will try to kill him, but he is all act. If he wanted to stab him, he shouldn't have come yelling at him, but come quietly from behind. Takemichi realizes that Tetta must have betrayed them, but seeing the knife on the ground, he realizes they must have stopped Hakkai from killing Taiju, however Hakkai is now in trouble. Takemichi yells at Taiju to stop. Taiju throws Hakkai to the side and tells Takemichi that this is the second time he interfered with Shiba family affairs. Taiju approaches Takemichi and tells Hakkai that his back is wide open. Taiju then proceeds and punches Takemichi explaining that before he punches him with 30% of his strength, but now he is using 50%. As Hakkai isn't moving, Taiju tells him that if he doesn't help him, he will kill Takemichi. Taiju then grabs Takemichi and asks him if he knows why Hakkai wants to kill him. Takemichi states its because Taiju abuses Yuzuha, which causes Taiju to laugh. Taiju decides to tell Hakkai's secret and explains that he isn't the guy Takemichi thinks he is. Hakkai starts asking Taiju to not say it. As Taiju is about to reveal it, Yuzuha comes from behind and stabs Taiju.

Taiju punches Yuzuha and gets angry. Hakkai asks her why is she there and Yuzuha explains she came to save him and end all of this. Hakkai gets angry at Takemichi guessing he told Yuzuha as Hakkai had only told Takemichi about it. Takemichi denies it and Yuzuha confirms, explaining she heard it from Tetta. Takemichi then starts to realize that in the original timeline, Hakkai isn't the one who killed Taiju, it was Yuzuha, which means Takemichi haven't prevented anything and Taiju's wound must be fatal. Taiju congratulates Yuzuha, complimenting her execution, however, he explains that thanks to Takemichi's reaction upon seeing her, gave Taiju a moment to react and move. Takemichi then sees that Taiju's wound is shallow and guesses he saved him, which means the future where Tetta controls Hakkai is avoided. Taiju is angry that his siblings tried to kill him as he slaved himself to the bone for them. Yuzuha states he is wrong as he only worked for himself and didn't care about them, and have been using the word "family" only to manipulate them. Taiju then punches Yuzuha. He cries while questioning God why he puts him through such ordeal of having to kill his own sister.
