Summary[]

Takemichi sees Hinata in front of him and asks Manjiro what is going on, but Manjiro acts like he doesn't know anything. Takemichi feels awkward as he dumped Hinata without any explanation and wonders what to do. Hinata then asks him if he got in another fight.

Earlier, Hinata asks her father Masato about what he said to Takemichi. Masato apologizes, but explains that he wants Hinata to find happiness and doesn't want her to fall for a hoodlum. Hinata asks him why he fall for her mother, stating it wasn't for her appearance. She explains that she fell for Takemichi's character and while he may not look dependable, he is very warm and kind. A "hoodlum" doesn't explain Takemichi. Crying, Hinata then leaves and goes to pray on a shrine. There she meets Emma, who also had come to pray. Emma's older brother used to come at this shrine each year to pray and she started coming with him, which turned into a tradition. Hinata states she is also visiting the shrine each year, making Emma guess that they may have met before. Emma wonders about what Hinata was praying and Hinata explains the situation. Emma wonders why would Takemichi agree to dump her and tell Hinata to leave things to her. Emma calls Ken, but neither he or Manjiro know where Takemichi is. Emma tells him to find him. Ken complains as he has no idea where to even start looking for him. Manjiro then interrupts Ken and tells him they should go back, as the Impulse he heard should indeed be Takashi's and Takemichi may be with him. Emma then tells them to bring Takemichi to Hinata's condo complex. Emma tells Hinata to tell Takemichi what she wants, but Hinata feels that if she sees Takemichi now, she may not be able to speak and may even start crying.

He didn't want she to get hurt for something he done. Takemichi promised to rescue her and also promises to protect her, even if she dies. Hinata doesn't understand what is he talking about. Takemichi then asks her to forget that they broke up. Hinata then asks him to take her to the shrine on New Year's. Hinata states they have made up, which causes Takemichi to cry even more. Looking at them, Ken states that Takemichi is weak with women and weak at fighting, but dependable when needed, and is really like "him". Manjiro agrees and then tells Takemichi to take a ride with him. Masato and Ryoko watch from the balcony. Ryoko states that Masato had lost and if he interferes again with Hinata, she will shut him out.

While ridding with Manjiro, Takemichi asks him about his parents, but Manjiro explains that he lives with Emma and his grandpa. He and Emma have different mothers and they used to live apart, but about ten years ago, Emma's mother left her with them and disappeared. Manjiro's big brother was like a father to them. He was ten years older and they always followed him, learning a lot from him. Without him, Manjiro feels lost sometimes. He isn't sure what it means, but at times like that, his mind goes blank, and he completely loses his way in the world, and the sight of the difference between what is right and wrong. Takemichi realizes that Manjiro knows he will lose his mind if he doesn't do something about it. Manjiro explains that his brother was a biker gang leader, however he was a poor fighter. He inspired a lot of guys and they followed him, even though they were stronger. Manjiro recalls when he was young, he told Shinichiro that he is weak, always chases women and his farts reek, which makes Manjiro wonder why guys like him, but Shinichiro tells him he doesn't understand it. Manjiro states that when Shinichiro led the guys, he was a bright sight for them and guesses they felt they can't lose as he had their backs. Takemichi states that is just like Manjiro. However, Manjiro states he is weak, while Takemichi is tough. Winning fights isn't really important. What is important is not losing to yourself. Takemichi is weak, but doesn't give in to anyone. Manjiro tells Takemichi that if he sees Manjiro is about to lose heart or lose his way, he wants Takemichi to bawl him out, just like Shinichiro did. Takemichi tears up and agrees to do it.

Ken and Takashi are riding together. Takashi wonders if they are announcing the "thing" at the first meeting next year and Ken confirms. Takashi believes that may start a lot of discontent, but Ken states in that case they will just have to fight as the twin dragons of Toman. Ken states that "twin dragons" bring some memories and they should go there. Takashi agrees, but guesses it should be cleaned by now. However as they visit the place, he sees that the graffiti is still there. Takashi recalls when he was young, he drew a dragon on the wall, but is then surprised to see young Ken, who has been observing him the entire time. As Takashi sees that Ken is eating, Ken offers him some and Takashi's stomach growls. Ken then laughs and tells him to sit and eat with him. They introduce to each other and Ken notices that Takashi ate all the food. Takashi then explains he haven't eaten all day. Ken then stands up and states the dragon graffiti is his then in exchange for his food.

Ken then invites Takashi to his place, which shocks Takashi. The women there keep asking Ken to do something for them, but he declines, telling them he will do it later. One of them asks Ken to play poker with her. As they agree, Takashi ends up easily beating them and as he kept taking out Jokers, they decide to call him "Joker". Takashi wonders if Ken is always making spending money like this and Ken confirms, stating that if they lose, they pay him 1000 yen, but if he loses, he gives them a free one-hour massage. The women then explain that Ken's massages are great and it helps relaxes their bodies. Ken complains its bad when he loses, as the next day his hands are numb. Takashi looks at the clock and explains that his mother is never home. After school, he is always taking care of his sisters, he ran away and would like to live here. One of the women then kicks him, telling him to leave as he thinks this is "fun".

He is a nice guy and isn't cut to be a hoodlum. Takashi felt that Ken saw through him.

Sometime later, Takashi finds Ken and tells him that one day he will be his equal, a hoodlum that cares for his family. The two are then shocked to see that both have the same haircut and had tattoed the graffiti dragon on their heads. Yuzuha blushes and then shares that when Taiju left a few days ago, he said that he wanted to raise Hakkai to be strong as he was annoyed that he was weak. Taiju then wonders who exactly is Takemichi as Taiju couldn't change Hakkai, but Takemichi did it. Taiju feels he is no longer needed in the house and is leaving, but admits that violence isn't everything. Hakkai is surprised to hear that Taiju said that. Yuzuha states that Takemichi managed to change both Hakkai and Taiju, and to her Takemichi is special. Hakkai then realizes that she wasn't looking at Takashi, and asks her if she doesn't have a crush on him. Yuzuha states that Takashi is like a brother and he has short hair. Hakkai then realizes that she loves Takemichi. Yuzuha tells him to shut up and that Takemichi has Hinata, so she is fine with one-sided crush.

Hinata sees "ema", a wooden plate where they write a wish and wants she and Takemichi to buy one. After Takemichi writes on his, Hinata wonders what he wrote, but Takemichi hides it now wanting to show and stating it won't come true if you show someone. Takashi and Hakkai then also want to see it, but Takemichi keeps refusing to show it. More Toman members show up and Hakkai manages to take the ema from Takemichi. As Takemichi tries to get it back, Hakkai ends up dropping it in front of Manjiro, who picks it up. Takemichi then runs to Manjiro and wants it back. Manjiro agrees as he looks desperate. As people start talking, they realize that its ten more seconds until New Year. Manjiro then tells everyone they should jump and as they count to zero, they all jump wishing a Happy New Year. Manjiro ends up throwing the ema in the air which reads that Takemichi wishes to become a hero who can save everyone.

Elsewhere, Shuji is surprised that Takemichi managed to pull it, but Tetta states this won't be the end.
