"Last order" is the 12th episode of the second season and the 36th episode overall of the Tokyo卍Revengers anime series, produced by Liden Films.

Synopsis[]

He also succeeded in crushing the Black Dragon and driving Tetta Kisaki out of Tokyo Manji Gang. Convinced that he had changed the future, Takemichi returns to the present day. However, he returns to the venue of Mitsuya's funeral. Mitsuya, an captain of Toman, had been killed by someone. Confused by this shocking revelation, Takemichi returns to his rundown apartment, only to find that Naoto has returned to the present. Naoto tells him that the situation in the present day is the worst he has ever seen.

Summary[]

Takemichi returns to the present, where Takashi had died and he was on his funeral. He searched online and finds that Takashi was found strangled. He also finds that Hinata still died in a car accident. He runs unable to believe that nothing had changed and wondering where Naoto and Chifuyu are. He sees he has a key, which he recognizes as the one he had for his rundown apartment he lived in. Going there, he realizes he must live there and not in some fancy apartment. He sees the photo of the gang he took before he returned to the present. Naoto then shows up, guessing that Takemichi must have returned as his memories got overwritten. Takemichi wonders what happened and Naoto tells him that from all the time travels he did, this timeline turned out the worst. Naoto reveals that not only Hinata died, but all of Tokyo Manji Gang members have been murdered too.

Naoto explains that Chifuyu was shot and killed. Hakkai was burned to death. Takashi strangled to death. Ken stabbed to death. Kazutora, Haruki and the rest has also been killed, including Tetta Kisaki. They haven't caught the suspect or have leads to him. Takemichi wonders if Manjiro was also killed, but Naoto reveals that Manjiro is person wanted for these murders. Takemichi can't believe that Manjiro killed them. Naoto shares that he wants to know the truth and wants to meet Manjiro and talk with him, but only Takemichi can do it. He is officer in Toman, but he is the only one who haven't been killed. Naoto wonders if Takemichi can guess why Manjiro did this, although he is sure that something that Takemichi did in the past has made this difference in this timeline. Takemichi states they did everything perfectly, eliminating the two things that ruined Toman: crushing Black Dragon and kicking Tetta out of Toman. Takemichi wonders if he telling Manjiro he can handle things on his own was wrong. Aside from that he took a picture of them together. Naoto then wonders from where he has the picture. Takemichi explains he founds it on the table and then sees an opened letter guessing it came with it. Naoto then sees that the postal stamp is from the Philippines. Reading the letter, they see it tells Takemichi to wait on the place he told him about on January 20th. Takemichi thinks for a bit, but seeing the bike keys, he realizes the letter is from Manjiro.

Takemichi and Naoto fly to Philippines and go to the address on the letter. As the place a big abandoned area, they split up to look around. While looking around, Takemichi notes this will be the first time to meet Manjiro in the present, but then starts to worry as he may be completely different than the Manjiro he knows from 12 years ago. Takemichi then see a bunch of scrap on one abandoned building and realizes that must be the place. Checking it out, Manjiro calls Takemichi, who sees that Manjiro still have the same eyes since back then and cries of joy for finding him. Manjiro explains that he called him here because he has a favor to ask.

When he is here and think of his brother, Manjiro recalls all his past and how he fought lots of guys and made friends. Takemichi is sure that Manjiro have not changed and is still the Manjiro he knew. Manjiro then states that Toman changed and wonders why Takemichi left Toman. Manjiro wanted Takemichi to stay by his side and scold him like his brother did. He did his best by himself, but he couldn't hold it back, and couldn't stop from losing himself. When Manjiro tried to stop Takemichi from leaving Toman, Ken told him not to. Takashi also agreed with Ken, telling Manjiro that Takemichi isn't suited for what Toman's becoming. They told Manjiro that he chose the path of violence and they made their mind and entrust their lives on his path, but they are indebted to Takemichi and don't want him to turn like them. Manjiro finds them great friends, but he did kill them. He tells Takemichi that Toman isn't like he used to be and he killed them all. Manjiro wants Takemichi to end it and gives him a gun, wanting Takemichi to kill him.

Takemichi can't believe what Manjiro is saying and tells him that he only came because he wanted to see him. Manjiro recalls that Hakkai said something similar before he died. While the building was burning with Hakkai and Manjiro in it, Hakkai told him that he wanted all of them to have a blast with Takemichi one last time. Manjiro explains that its not easy achieving a dream. The first time Manjiro killed a person, he didn't feel anything. He then realized that pretty much all troubles can be solved by killing someone, and he can just kill anyone who gets in his way. Manjiro tells him he is wrong and haven't changed at all. He can see in his eyes he haven't changed, so he should stop all the killings. Manjiro then takes Takemichi down, pointing the gun at him. As Takemichi looks at him, Manjiro recalls the last moments of Chifuyu, where he had asked him if he remembers Takemichi and that one day, Takemichi will come looking for him. And when he do, Takemichi will be the same as he used to be, like he traveled through time. He should look at Takemichi's eyes as they never lie. Before shooting him, Chifuyu told Manjiro to trust Takemichi. Manjiro tears up and tells Takemichi to pick up the gun as if he doesn't kill Manjiro, Manjiro will kill him. Takemichi doesn't reach out for the gun. Manjiro then prepares to pull the trigger saying that they can't return to the past. However, just before he pulls him, he gets shot by Naoto.

Takemichi grabs Manijro, crying and yelling his name. Naoto sees that Manjiro's gun had the safety on and he wouldn't have shot Takemichi. Still barely alive, Manjiro guesses that its Naoto and thanks him as he doubts Takemichi would have done it. Manjiro is glad that everyone is over as his life was only suffering. Takemichi reveals that he can travel back in time and will do whatever it takes to make sure this isn't their future. Manjiro thanks Takemichi for trying to comfort him, even if it's just a lie. As Manjiro dies, he tells Takemichi that his hand is warm.
