The Fourth Time Leap occurred on July 9, 2005, from the past to the present.

Introduction[]

While watching the fireworks with Hinata Tachibana, an event that notably never occurred originally when Takemichi was a child, Takemichi accidentally grabs Naoto’s hand, thinking it to be Hina’s, sending him back into the future unintentionally.

Plot[]

When Naoto notices Takemichi awake, he interprets that as a sign of Takemichi completing his objective, though this is later confirmed to be a misinterpretation, and that Takemichi only went back to the present by accident. Despite this mistake, Takemichi and Naoto can confirm the mechanics through which time leaping runs, including the fact that time continues to go on while Takemichi is in the past, and that his body remains suspended in a state of unconsciousness while he is away.

After discussing the mechanics of time leaping, Takemichi assures Naoto that Mikey is a good guy, and that he couldn’t possibly be the one responsible for killing Hina. Naoto argues back that this must be incorrect, and that he’d kill Mikey himself if given the chance, but Takemichi says that he believes in Mikey, and that Mikey would never do something like killing Hina. In order to resolve the dissonance between them, Naoto and Takemichi agree to search for Mikey, or any clues that may lead to his whereabouts, since Mikey is extremely cautious. Eventually, they settle on contacting Atsushi Sendo, who is now a Toman admin, and whose phone number Takemichi still has access to.

Takemichi manages to get ahold of Akkun, who is now running a hostess bar. He goes there with Naoto to meet Akkun, and, with little difficulty, confronts him on the roof of the building. Notably, Akkun is nearly unrecognizable from how he was as a child, with shorn hair and a lean face, though Takemichi tries to convince himself that Akkun is the same person on the inside. Akkun and Takemichi go off on their own, leaving Naoto inside, which is when Akkun tells Takemichi that Toman has become akin to a criminal organization. Akkun admits to being the one who pushed Takemichi onto the train tracks, the day Takemichi discovered his time leaping ability, and then begins to break down, stating that Takemichi must have discovered a time traveling ability, because there is no other way he could’ve survived. Takemichi argues that Akkun would never try to kill him, to which Akkun replies that he is one of Kisaki’s soldiers, and that Kisaki is in full control of Toman. Akkun then mentions Draken’s death (which would occur during the Battle of 8/3), and says that if Takemichi really can time travel, then he needs to go back and save everyone. Akkun then jumps off the edge of the building, committing suicide. Kisaki is shown to be watching this entire exchange from the corner of the roof, heavily implying his involvement in the scenario.

Upon later discussion, Takemichi and Naoto decide that to save Toman from becoming corrupt, they must stop Draken from dying, since Mikey changed after Draken’s death.
