Black Dragon[]

Seishu Inui[]

Seishu and Kokonoi are childhood friends. Koko was in love with Seishu's older sister, Akane. When the Inuis' building caught fire, Koko saved Seishu thinking he was Akane. After Akane's death, Koko stayed by Seishu's side. Together, they recruited Taiju Shiba to reform the Black Dragons. When Taiju Shiba lost to the Tokyo Manji Gang, they both joined Hanagaki's 1st Division, thus merging the two gangs. Later, they were captured by Mucho. To save Seishu and Hanagaki, Koko agreed to join Tenjiku.

Akane Inui[]

Koko used to hang out with Seishu and Akane, Seishu's older sister of five years, as children. Koko found Akane pretty and compared her features to Seishu's. He tried to kiss her when she was asleep at the library, but she woke up. She told him he should only kiss the person he likes. Later, Koko confessed his feelings to her. Akane told him she would wait until they were adults. When the Inuis' building caught fire, Koko rushed inside to save her. But, due to their resemblance, he saved Seishu instead, leaving Akane behind. At the hospital, Akane suffered severe burns all over her body and was in a coma. Seishu revealed to Koko that his family did not have enough money to pay for Akane's treatment. In order to gain money and save Akane, Koko became the leader of a small gang of thugs. Unfortunately, she died before he could collect enough money to pay for Akane's treatment. Even though he could not reach his goal, Koko still continued to try and gain money as he had become famous in the criminal world for his financial power.

Taiju Shiba[]

Taiju Shiba first came to Kokonoi for his financial abilities. Koko introduced him to Seishu as a potential leader for the 10th Generation of the Black Dragon. Seishu and Koko became commanders under his leadership. Koko did not hesitate to betray him for money and admitted to prefer power over loyalty. Thus, when Taiju Shiba lost to the Tokyo Manji Gang, Kokonoi left as Taiju had lost his power and utility.
