Tokyo卍Revengers (東京卍リベンジャーズ, Tōkyō Manji Ribenjāzu?) is a shōnen action manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from March 2017[1] to November 2022[2] with a total of 278 chapters collected into 31 tankōbon volumes. It was published in Japanese by Kodansha Comics and in English by Kodansha USA.
In 2021, the series received an anime adaptation produced by LIDENFILMS. Its first season ran from April 11[3] to September 19 and concurrently aired with a series of mini-anime specials entitled Chibi Revengers. A second season ran from January to April 2023, while a third ran from October to December in the same year.
Synopsis[]
Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!![4]

A live-action movie based on the series was announced in February 2020 and was released in July 2021.[citation needed] A sequel entitled Tokyo Revengers: Bloody Halloween, which was divided into two-part films called Destiny and Decisive Battle, premiered in April and June 2023, respectively.[5] Two stage play adaptations also premiered in August 2021[6] and March to April 2022.[7]
A parody gag manga by Shinpei Funatsu entitled Todai Revengers began weekly serialization in November 2021[8] and concluded in March 2023[9] with 69 chapters and 6 volumes on Magazine Pocket. A spin-off manga entitled Tokyo Revengers: Letter from Keisuke Baji was released in July 2022.[10] It is also serialized on Magazine Pocket, which centers on the lives of Keisuke Baji and Chifuyu Matsuno prior to the main storyline. As of December 2023, it has over 28 chapters and 4 volumes.
A spin-off miniseries entitled Tokyo Revengers Extra, comprising of eight extra manga chapters, was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from November 23, 2022 to January 11, 2023, shortly after the manga's conclusion. The extra chapters were originally released on the blu-ray and DVD volumes of the season 1 anime in 2021 in a form of a special booklet.
