When readers are first introduced to the concept of "time-leaping" in Tokyo Revengers, we are led to believe that it is an ability inherent to Hanagaki, and that it is a limited ability that only works if specific conditions are met. The supposed limitation is that Hanagaki is only capable of leaping twelve years, and twelve years exactly, back into the past. The supposed condition is that Hanagaki must first shake hands with Naoto Tachibana, the brother of Hinata Tachibana, in order to activate the process of leaping into the past.
However, in recent chapters, the aforementioned limitation and condition have both been disproven.

- it was ASSUMED that hanagaki could only leap 12 years back into the past, n that he had to shake naoto's hand to trigger that action
- but in recent chapters hanagaki leapt after grabbing ahold of mikey's hand
- what's more, he didn't travel 12 years back!! he travelled around 10!

- hanagaki is able to travel first when naoto wants him to help save hinata, yeah? but after hinata was saved, hanagaki couldn't use naoto to travel back
- he was only able to leap again after he grabbed ahold of mikey!! because mikey asked him for help i.e. MIKEY WAS ASKING HANAGAKI TO SAVE HIM
- the similarities between these two instances are that hanagaki and an individual were clasping hands together when the later requested of the former to save somebody
- sooooo hanagaki's time-leaping is definitely limited, and it definitely comes with conditions! but those limits and conditions are just different from what was previously assumed!
- Hanagaki is only able to leap back into time in order to save others. What's more is that he appears to not be able to accomplish this feat by himself; he requires the aid of another who is in agreement with who he wishes to save.
